I started my career in 1988 drawing dinosaurs, gorillas and rockets, and I kept practicing during primary and secondary school.
Then I started fine arts in Barcelona, and Art Grafic at Escola Joso, all at the same time. But I didn’t know you had to be an artist to study that career at the university, so finally I quit fine arts and I continued my studies at Joso, where I learned how to play football with an empty can and the basics of how to do comics.
After having a few jobs like delivering newspapers or working on a textile factory, I had my first REAL jobs as an artist. Of course, there was very little money, and most of them where crap, but I learned a lot and I knew great people on the way. One day, I heard they were looking for people to work in a spanish animation movie: Nocturna. The art of that movie was awesome and way beyond my skills at that time. I made the test, and they hired me. It was a great success for me, I learned a lot more, and again, I met fantastic people and I had the pleasure to work with them. The adventure lasted for a bit less than a year and a half.
When I left, I started working as a freelance. That was a real jungle. Taxes, burocracy, clients that would not pay unless you called them five times a day… but on the way I had the privilege of working on Pendulo, making the kind of video games I use to play as a kid, amongst many other jobs.
After three years I was exhausted, so I decided that what I really wanted to do was in fact something else: comics. And the french market was the best choice for me. I made a project and I was lucky enough to sell it to Dargaud Benelux. But I needed to travel a bit first so I moved to Ireland and I was there for two years, and I finished my first book. But that was just the beginning! I am currently working on my second book (and also on other personal projects) and living in Berlin, considering which should be my next destiny.
